The HGCC Foundation partners with various member-sponsored local charities to provide financial support over a two or three-year period. The primary focus is to support organizations that assist children and provide food programs to those in need.
Through the HGCC Foundation Bursary Program, one student at each of the secondary schools in Hamilton currently receives a one-time $5,000 bursary at graduation. The primary focus is to assist students facing financial difficulties in pursuit of a higher education.
The club hosts two annual golf tournaments in support of the Foundation’s charity partners.
The Borthwick Memorial Golf Tournament recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. It is open to all golfing members and invited guests and is highlighted by silent and live auctions.
Par For a Cause is a member-only event coordinated by the Women’s Section. It’s one of the highlight days at the club each year featuring an auction and hole-in-one luncheon.
Sharing the Wealth
In June, as the school year comes to a close, select students from across the City of Hamilton are invited to the HGCC Foundation Bursary Program Luncheon, where they’re recognized for their hard work and commitment to their studies.
The HGCC Foundation Cheque Presentation Ceremony is held each fall in the Great Hall. Our partners gather to receive their funding cheques and share highlights of the past year. It’s an afternoon of gratitude and commitment to making life better for those in need.
